WFFC-UK October Newsletter-THE LAUNCH

As some of you may be aware, I attended the WFFC Board Meeting in New Jersey, USA last week.  It was a great pleasure to meet the team and I am very grateful for their encouragement, advice and financial support; I hope that in return we can reward them by forming our own successful branch here in the UK.

I was also fortunate to attend the WFFC Open Annual Dinner which was a huge success with over 650 attendees from within our industry – it was a wonderful evening and a great opportunity to meet colleagues from all over the world.

As indicated in my earlier news update, we intend the WFFC-UK to support a recognised need for an educational, supportive and networking platform for women in the UK.  We invite all women involved in our industry – from sales, purchasing, technical and customer service departments to participate.

The plan is to set up a Company Limited by Guarantee (which basically means that as Directors we have no liability) and in line with WFFC USA, I intend to set up a Board of 8 members comprising:

  • President
  • Vice-President
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Directors x 4

The company will be regulated by the Companies Act 1948-1975 and we will determine the Articles and Memoranda for our Association.

I therefore cordially invite any of you that the time and the commitment to volunteer to join me and and participate in the birth of the WFFC-UK!

Please email me - angie.flay@demonchyaromatics.com by Thursday 13th October 2005 if you wish to be involved at this level. Once the board is formed, we will hold our first meeting after which we will open subscriptions for members.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Angie
